The Scale-model Circuit provides a fun and unusual way of promoting renewable energies. Model cars, powered uniquely by their on-board solar panels and skilfully piloted by their young drivers, will race head-to-head around a 20m x 10m circuit.
This competition, which is open to all, attracts teams from the four corners of France. Guided by a project leader,
the race can be used as the basis of a fascinating, but technically achievable team project.
The race also allows schools to develop a yearlong team project that will result in a concrete achievement and the satisfaction of a job well done.
A professional jury will award prizes in a variety of categories ranging from performance and technical innovation to the aesthetics of the vehicle and the dynamism of the team. In addition, the public will be asked to judge a “special” prize.
Although the competition is open to all priority will be given to schools, technical high schools and engineering schools.
The scale-model races will take place over two days, with several legs for each category of vehicle.
