Solar Event includes an area in which construction and solar energy companies can showcase their products : the Solar Habitat Village.

Objective: to highlight the diversity and range of existing technologies, and underline the energy and financial savings they provide.
The Village has two distinct sections :
- A permanent village for presenting sustainable housing and building-integrated solar energy. The objective is to demonstrate technical advances and the wide range of building techniques available. The village will be inaugurated during Solar Event 2009.
- The model of the French entry for the 2010 Solar Decathlon in Madrid.
Solar Decathlon is an inter-university competition to design and build the most energy-efficient house using solar energy. Originally created in the USA and based in Washington, Solar Decathlon now has a European version, the first edition of which will be held in the spring of 2009. A French entry is being developed for the 2010 edition.
ENSAG, INES and Les Grands Ateliers have joined forces to present a low-cost and energy-efficient housing project.
The model and the plans will be presented at Solar Event 2009, and the house itself will be on show at Solar Event 2010, when it returns from Madrid.
